2009-04-07	EXTERIOR LIGHTING	SABERSPORT IS RECALLING 16,270 COMBINATION CORNER AND BUMPER LAMP ASSEMBLIES OF VARIOUS PART NUMBERS SOLD FOR USE AS AFTERMARKET EQUIPMENT FOR VARIOUS PASSENGER VEHICLES. THESE HEADLAMPS FAIL TO CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 108, “LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT.” THESE LAMPS DO NOT CONTAIN THE REQUIRED AMBER SIDE REFLECTORS. 1/16/04 I have been to the dealer (Don Ducote ) often since I have purchased my Protege. Since September of 2000,I had noticed and went into the dealership more than 3 timesto have the air conditioning checked. Each time, I was told the air conditioning was fine, but I continuously have to turn up the air contioning controls each summer I use this car. When I purchased the car , turning the a/c on #1would cool it fine. Now, I have to turn it on to #3. Nothing has been done…only everything is fine.I have gotten my timely oil changes and been told that transmission fluid had to be added to the container. I went into the dealership and they told menot to listen toother places (Jiffy Lube – where I had already purchased extra items, and saw no reason where they would lie to me,since they don’t fix transmissions or refer people to garages). Again, I was told by the dealership that everything is fine. But the transmission light always comes on when I turn on the ignition and it’s not supposed to do that.Also, I have told the dealership that the weatherstripping(from the beginning) was incomplete…that water from rainand car washes leaked into the front of the car doors andinto the trunk. I was told also, that it would take a weekto fix this problem. I know betterThe latest thing is that this past year (2003) I went in tohavenew front brakes put on, as advised by the Mazda brochures sent out to me. Please understand that I am NOTgetting brochures now, since I have complained to Mazda-online, about the service department. I wanted NEW brakesas the brochure foretold, but was told by the servicemanthat all I needed was a “little grinding and smoothing of the brakes, not a full brake replacement”. I said okay, stupid me….I ended up paying the full price for new brakes($112)…I paid about $109.00. I was fooled by the service manager on duty at the time (Chris Brown) and the serviceman.Since then, I won’t have anything to do with Don Ducote Mazda, as I have had nothing but trouble with them from the beginning. I had had a bankrupty…chapter 13, but they sold me the Protege, and Ihad felt that there was no whereelse to go to purchase a car I badly needed. They knew that, and I feel that I was grandly fooled and taken advantage of.I am not even allowed to see my file. I am imagining thatthere are somethings I am not supposed to see, even though,by law, I am supposed to see my file.Someone backed into my car in late 2002 and the dealershiptook a whole week to check the front part of my car. Iwanted my a/c and engine checked, etc…transmission,radiator, ….but Iknow it doesn’t takeone entire week to do that. I feel that the dealership wanted to charge as much as possible to checkout the car,since my insurance company was paying for it.Thank you, and I am glad to be a member, and will keep youinformed as I go to another dealership to have these problems checked , as Ino longer trust the Ducote dealership.
