NHTSA fines Takata $50,000

The Center for Auto Safety is the nation’s premier independent, member driven, non-profit consumer advocacy organization dedicated to improving vehicle safety, quality, and fuel economy on behalf of all drivers, passengers, and pedestrians.
On January 10, 1997, NHTSA fined the Takata Corporation in the amount of $50,000 for failure to recall seat belt buckles in a timely manner.
